Overwhelmed by data but still missing answers? You’re not alone. Fashion brands today sit on mountains of data, yet using this data and knowing what’s actually selling, what to replenish , and whether your Auto-Restock setup is working still feels like solving a puzzle without the picture.

That’s exactly what our product team set out to fix. In this interview, we sit down with Birte Schröder, Head of Smart Replenishment at Fashion Cloud, to talk about our latest Smart Replenishment updates, how new dashboards bring clarity to chaos, and why this is just the beginning of something much bigger. Because let’s face it — the future of wholesale? It’s
smarter than ever.

1) Let’s kick it off: Why was now the right time to upgrade Smart Replenishment?

B.S.:
Because Smart Replenishment has grown up. Until now, it’s been a powerful engine — quietly fueling automated, data-driven reorders between brands and retailers. But smart automation alone is no longer enough.

Today, brands are sitting on more data than ever before — but without the visibility or tools to use it effectively. And in a world where success isn’t just about selling more, but selling better, not using the data becomes a real business risk. You're missing opportunities. You're making blind decisions. And you’re leaving value on the table.

That’s why we doubled down on what makes Smart Replenishment truly smart: transparency, clarity, and data that drives real action. With this update, brands finally gain access to the same intelligent insights that power the engine — making it possible to see what’s happening, why it’s happening, and what to do next. It’s about moving from gut feeling to clarity. From guessing — to knowing.

In short
: we’ve made the invisible visible. Because data only creates value when it’s in your hands. And the time to put it there is now.

2) What are the most exciting changes brands will actually see on the platform?

B.S.:
For the first time, brands get a full picture of how their replenishment business  is performing — all in one place. The new dashboards provide insights into article performance, retailer activity, and sales team impact, answering key questions like: “Is my Auto-Restock setup effective?” “What impact has it had on my sales?” “Where are the gaps?”

You can instantly see which styles are driving reorders, how engaged your retailers are, and where Auto-Restock is delivering real results. With forecasting insights and real-time feedback loops, you’re no longer just reacting — you're steering your replenishment strategy. It’s a shift from hoping something works… to knowing it does.

3) You say the data now “tells a story” — what kind of story are we talking about?

B.S.:
A story tailored to your priorities, one that reflects what you want and need to see to make confident and informed decisions. These dashboards are designed for every role — whether you're in sales, merchandising, ops, or design — turning raw data into clear, role-specific answers.

Sales teams see which retailers are flying and who’s falling behind. Area managers spot regional trends and compare store performance. The head of sales can track customer portfolio health and team productivity. And for product teams? It’s about identifying bestsellers by region or spotting what’s missing for the next preorder collection.

Data becomes usable — instantly and visually.
4) Even brands who already use Smart Replenishment — why should they care about this update?

B.S.:
Because Smart Replenishment isn’t standing still — and neither is wholesale. Digital tools evolve, and this year, we’ve taken major steps to strengthen what we already do best: making replenishment smarter, easier, and more insightful.

Yes, many brands already had access to key metrics like stock turn, missed sales, or stock gaps. But now, these insights are more accessible, more visual, and more actionable than ever. We’re putting the right data in the right place — so instead of digging for answers, you can start acting on them.

5) If this is just the beginning, what’s next on the roadmap for Smart Replenishment?

B.S.:
We’re not done — far from it. That means going beyond dashboards and turning insights into real efficiency gains. Think: bulk actions, more automation, and sharper processes that help brands do more with less. For us, smart means actionable — not just showing data, but helping teams using data to make informed decisions, move faster, scale easier, and collaborate better.

And this release? It lays the groundwork for all of that. We’ve only scratched the surface of what’s possible with Smart Replenishment. Stay tuned for what comes next!
